National Three Peaks Challenge

The National Three Peaks Challenge

Take on the iconic British mountain challenge with Premier Expeditions
The objective of the National Three Peaks Challenge is simple: to climb the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, all in one 24-hour expedition. This hugely popular challenge is a fixture on many a bucket list, and a great way to raise money for your favourite charity. Why not take on the big three with the support of qualified and experienced Mountain Leaders and full logistical support from Premier Expeditions?

The Mountains

Ben Nevis
4,411 feet/1,345 metres

The Challenge kicks off with the big one: Ben Nevis, not just the highest mountain in Scotland but in the whole of Britain - and you will climb every foot of it. The ascent of this mighty mountain begins at sea level in the town of Fort William, and follows the iconic Mountain Track to the summit, truly the holy grail for British hill walkers.

Scafell Pike
3,209 feet/978 metres

From the Highlands of Scotland you will head south of the border to the Lake District, where you will take on Scafell Pike, England's highest peak. The climb begins at Wasdale Head and ascends via Lingmell Col to the summit, memorably described by legendary guidebook writer Alfred Wainwright as "the Mecca of all weary pilgrims in Lakeland."
Snowdon
3,560 feet/1,085 metres

On to Snowdonia where you will complete the Challenge with the ascent of the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon. The climb begins at the famous Pen y Pass and follows the popular Miner's Track; tired legs will be glad of a couple of miles of easy walking before a steep, exhilarating push to the summit ridge and the final peak of the Challenge.

In 2024 Premier Expeditions will be running a number of fully supported National Three Peaks Challenge expeditions. You will have the opportunity to take on the challenge under the guidance of a qualified Mountain Leader and with comprehensive logistical support throughout the Challenge, including executive transport and dedicated drivers. Expeditions One and Two are suitable for individuals or small groups who would like to take part in the Challenge as part of a larger team. We also offer bespoke Three Peaks Challenge experiences for larger groups to be run on dates to suit.
